"Tee" Time in Loudoun County / Shana

October 8 was a picture-prefect day for the 10th Annual Loudoun Charity Golf Classic. UWNCA’s Loudoun Regional Council and Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) hosted 138 golfers, sponsors and volunteers at Raspberry Falls Golf and Hunt Club. It was a great time for all who attended. The Classic raises money for UWNCA’s Loudoun Community Impact Fund.

The best ball scramble format featured prizes for the top 3 foursomes in each division, several contest holes, and even an appropriate prize for the team with the highest score – deluxe stadium seat cushions. Golfers enjoyed a complimentary continental breakfast, Panera Bread Company boxed lunch delivered to them on the course, and a steak dinner provided by Outback Steakhouse.

Our very own Bill Hanbury was on hand to thank players and sponsors and to describe the work of the charities funded by the Community Impact Fund. Amazing what an afternoon of golfing and fun can support. Ten-year sponsors Giuliani Associates Architects, PMC, and MWAA were also recognized. MWAA has been the presenting sponsor of the Classic since its inception, with Larry Ferrigno and Mark Waslo leading to tournament committee every year.

The 2009 Golf Classic committee included Juli Seaman and Jeff Eveland from the Loudoun Regional Council, Larry Ferrigno and Mark Waslo from MWAA and David Kurtz with UWNCA
